Rhythmix

Rhythmix is a music and social welfare charity that provides opportunities for music making for people in challenging circumstances.

They believe in the power of music to transform lives and that everyone should have the chance to express themselves through it. Music making gives people the opportunity to gain independence, an insight into their skills, hone their talents and an invaluable chance to engage with the professional musicians who serve as their Rhythmix tutors.

They work with vulnerable people across the South East including children, teenagers and young adults who may be in care or in hospital and hospices, or have disabilities and mental health problems.

Music in Mind is an extensive music-making programme for young people aged 11-18 with mental health problems. The Music in Mind programme aims to engage young people in positive activities, providing respite from their challenges and helping relieve stress. Focusing on self-expression and resilience, the programme enables them to be supported emotionally and musically in a musical atmosphere, and encourages social, personal and educational development.
