Arts Council England
Arts Council England champions, develops and invests in artistic and cultural experiences that enrich people’s lives.
They support a range of activities across the arts, museums and libraries – from theatre to digital art, reading to dance, music to literature, and crafts to collections.
Since 2012, Department for Education and the Arts Council have invested £267m in a range of music and cultural education programmes. The largest investment has been made by DfE for music education hubs (£245m over four financial years).
Alongside funding music education hubs, Arts Council England has also supported specific musical programmes directed towards young people. National Youth Music Organisations that focus on providing music-making opportunities for disadvantaged children and young people received funding from the Arts Council, as did In Harmony, a national programme that aims to inspire and transform the lives of children in deprived communities.
